Abstract:
This study investigated relationships between flexible work arrangements, work-family
enrichment, organizational commitment, and burnout. 202 Amazon Mechanical Turk
workers participated in a survey designed to measure the outlined variables. In this
quantitative design experiment, participants followed a link to complete the online survey
created on SurveyMonkey. I found that the availability of flexible work arrangements
was positively related to work-family enrichment and organizational commitment but
negatively related to burnout. Work-family enrichment completely mediated the
relationship between flexible work arrangements, organizational commitment. Work
family enrichment also completely mediated the relationship between flexible work
arrangements and burnout. These findings support the implementation of flexible
working options in more organizations.
