| dc.description.abstract | The discovery well of the Seydell oil pool was completed in January, 1958. Since that time, approximately 50 wells have been drilled in the field. The oil pool is 10cated in the Sedgwick Basin of south-central Kansas. Production is primarily obtained from the Simpson sands tone of the middle Ordovician age. Minor production is also obtained fro the Mississippi and Kansas City group. As of November 1984, approximately 2,000,000 barrels of oil have been produced. The structure shown by subsurface mapping is a northerly trending, southerly plunging anticline with a closure of approximately 77 feet on top of the Simpson group. The closure of the structure increases the depth. | en_US |
