dc.description.abstract Glaciers in Kansas? The very idea seems preposterous, in a climate where summer temperature routinely reaches 38°C (100°F) and winter snowfall is sporadic. What was the earth's climate like; what must the climate of Kansas have been like to allow ice sheets to exist? The historical observations of weather and climate arc simply inadequate to deal with such questions. and so we must turn to the geological record of ancient glaciations. en_US
