dc.description.abstract Academic Librarians face unique challenges when reaching out to students to increase usage of both the library, its resources and services. Students are often intimidated by the library and do not want to come to the library unless they are required to do so. In order to reach out to the students for library instruction or informally through activities, a student organization group was created to serve as an advocate for the Emporia State University Libraries and Archives. This chapter looks at the creation of that group and presents general tips for someone wanting to form a similar organization. en_US
