Abstract

This thesis is a cOllection of short stories and an introduction to my work. In the introduction I attempt to explain, as well as any writer can, why I choose to examine the issues that I do and why I look at the use of language in the manner that I do. The stories themselves are a vehicle through which I express my views of reality, and I attempt to remain true to that reality whether it is an uncomfortable view, for the reader or myself, or not. Over all I am pleased with the language and the voice. The story, or content, is something that develops itself, sometimes choosing a route I would not have expected. But that is part of the fun of writing, seeing in the end what your project has become.
